Growing so fast...Ummm I'm not ready for this!

This guy is a WIZ at Legos!  He follows the instructions, makes modifications to improve the design and comes up with his own creations all by himself!  He calls himself the "master builder."  When creating structures from his imagination, he usually makes them symmetrical and typically builds some sort of vehicle that transforms into something else.

Guess who slept in her crib in her own room last night!  This big girl!  Cereal has helped her sleep longer stretches during the night :)  Yay for more sleep...boo to growing up soooooo fast!

First taste of "real food"

4 month check up:
24 inches long and 14.6 lbs!
The first attempt at cereal did not go so well, but after she was nursed and had a little nap we tried again and she LOVED it!  She finished the ENTIRE bowl!

This little guy is still loving preschool.  He comes home everyday singing a new song or asking to play the new games he's learned with us.  He's also adding, subtracting and even dividing these day

Me:  Landon can you please bring me 5 chips.
Landon:  Counts them out.
Me about 5 minutes later:  Landon can you bring me 5 more chips?
Landon:  Mom!  You're eating 10 chips that's a lot of chips
Jared:  How did you know mom ate 10 chips?
Landon:  Because she had 5 before and now 5 more and 5 plus 5 is 10!

Over the weekend we met up with The Lauer's in DC.  The kidos had a blast together as usual and we had fun catching up with Pam and Eli.  We are looking forward to another great adventure next summer!

These posts are getting shorter and shorter because our sweet girl has such trouble sleeping on her own, so we're trying the cry it out method.  It's been working, but its been torture to hear her cry out for us.  She quiets down as soon as you pick her up and cuddle her.  Just breaks my heart, but its time for her to learn to self soothe, right?

17 weeks old!

His love for his sister is just beautiful!

She grabs for and holds onto things.  She's started to take objects to her mouth too!  Watch out Landon!  Those toys will be hers soon enough!
She is such a happy little girl!  She is enjoying tummy time more and more!

So Landon came into my bedroom last night because he needed to potty.  After he was finished, he smiled at me, tucked me in and kissed me on the head and said, "You can come to my room if there are any monsters in your dreams and I'll kiss them all away!"
Just want everyone to know its not by choice that there are fewer pictures of Landon these days.  He just doesn't want to have his picture taken often:(  I am writing this down so in the future it doesn't come back on me that there were more pictures of SK than of him in her early years :)  Mommy tries hard, but most of the time I get the "Fake smile because you've asked 15 times and I'm annoyed" look.
Special moments with daddy!

SK is 16 weeks old! Camping Trip

October 4-6, 2014
17 weeks old

We arrived on Friday and got our tent set up just before the rain let loose.

We had a blast Saturday, trick or treating, playing on the playground, and eating scrumptious camp food.

Sarah attended her first movie in a theater, Hocus Pocus, which was Landon's first movie 1 year ago as well!
Sunday, we met Sue and Tim in Harpers Ferry and explored, hiked, and ate lunch.  We sure do miss this place, but we are grateful for the time we had there and always look forward to returning!

We also got a chance to visit with Kayla, Jim and Michelle and Hap and Lisa!  Love these friends!
