17 weeks old!

His love for his sister is just beautiful!

 She grabs for and holds onto things.  She's started to take objects to her mouth too!  Watch out Landon!  Those toys will be hers soon enough!

She is such a happy little girl!  She is enjoying tummy time more and more!

So Landon came into my bedroom last night because he needed to potty.  After he was finished, he smiled at me, tucked me in and kissed me on the head and said, "You can come to my room if there are any monsters in your dreams and I'll kiss them all away!"  

Just want everyone to know its not by choice that there are fewer pictures of Landon these days.  He just doesn't want to have his picture taken often:(  I am writing this down so in the future it doesn't come back on me that there were more pictures of SK than of him in her early years :)  Mommy tries hard, but most of the time I get the "Fake smile because you've asked 15 times and I'm annoyed" look.

SK is 16 weeks old! Camping Trip

October 4-6, 2014

17 weeks old

We arrived on Friday and got our tent set up just before the rain let loose.  

 We had a blast Saturday, trick or treating, playing on the playground, and eating scrumptious camp food.

 Sarah attended her first movie in a theater, Hocus Pocus, which was Landon's first movie 1 year ago as well!
 Sunday, we met Sue and Tim in Harpers Ferry and explored, hiked, and ate lunch.  We sure do miss this place, but we are grateful for the time we had there and always look forward to returning!

 We also got a chance to visit with Kayla, Jim and Michelle and Hap and Lisa!  Love these friends!

Developing So fast!

Over the past few days Sarah has seemed to pick up quite a few new skills.  She raises her head and legs up at the same time during tummy time in an airplane sort of move.  She is also grabbing onto her clothes, hair, toys, and anything else that comes near her little hands!  She has also started to put things into her mouth (toys and my arm mostly)

She "talks" to us a lot thses days and we just love her little coos and squawks.  She also played the "tongue game" a lot these days.  She smiles and coos at us when she's happy.  Her eyebrows, though very faint, are very expressive.  She makes lots of faces to tell us her mood.

Sleeping is still hit or miss at night.  She sometimes goes 5-6 hours at a stretch before waking up to eat, but lately she's only been going about 3.  Another growth spurt maybe?

Right now, she's in the moby all wrapped up and she's dreaming.  She definitely prefers to be held in the moby and I"m just fine with that because I can still get everything done I need to while wearing her.  

Over the weekend, we traveled to HSC and Longwood so Jared could guest lecture at HSC. SK stayed in her first hotel.  We all had a blast!We caught up with Kari, Phil, and John in Farmville, had dinner at Macados and splashed in the fountain on Brock Commons.  

 At HSC, SK took her first hike through the woods on Wilson Trail.  She slept through the whole thing!

Look at how much this big guy has grown! 

Sarah Katherine is 3 months old!

Sarah Katherine is growing and changing everyday!

She is becoming more interactive with us, cooing and smiling as we talk and smile at her.  She also loves to play the "tongue game"  where we stick our tongue out at her and she does the same.  Today, she actually initiated this game with Landon!

She loves her bath time!  She waves her arms and kicks her feet as we bathe her. 

 Landon loves her so much and is so sweet to her.

On our trip home from the pool one day, Sarah was crying and Landon leaned over to her car seat and sang to her and said, "Don't worry, Sarah, Big Brother's right here.  Don't cry.  I love you."  It just melted my heart!

She weighs over 12 lbs. now (we go to the doc soon to get her true weight) and is growing out of her 0-3 month clothes quickly.  She nurses well and is sleeping well (about 4-6 hours at night) and takes a few "Sarah Kat naps" during the day with one long nap (usually when Landon naps) during the day.  Sometimes I can escape her tight grasp during the daytime nap, but most of the time, I fall asleep too!  

She didn't used to be a big fan of the Paci, but more and more she seems comforted by it.  It's defilement a last resort and car aide right now  

She is doing a lot more standing and bouncing with support now.  She is also enjoying time on the floor with toys for longer periods of time.  

She does not, however, like tummy time at all. 

Landon and his love of the water:

So in the past, Landon has perfected to play in the sand or take walks/runs while splashing in the shallows of the ocean.  This trip, however, he wanted to be IN the ocean and he kept moving farther and farther out!  Definitely time for swim lessons because he has no fear!

He does great with his swimmies on, but does not like taking them off because he wants his INDEPENDENCE!  

 He's loving Preschool and talks about his friends he's made all the time.  His favorite movie right now is The Lego Movie and his favorite toys are Legos for sure!
